Slimline Shaker Card for a Sweet 16

This fun card is for my daughter’s 16th birthday. She loves glitz and glam and also a playful shaker card…I can’t blame her! So do I.
I decided to make my first tri-fold card. And for the shaker element, I made the entire front panel into one big shaker.
To begin, I made 2 slimline card bases from black cardstock. Using my cricut, I cut the center out of one of them and left the other one intact. I cut 2 matching gold frames to add to the front and inside of the first card base. The frames will hold the acetate and also add some shine.
Once I layered the frames and acetate, I added the shaker bits. Then I had to keep it under something heavy for a bit to make sure everything adhered together without gaps. Even tiny gaps will let all that good stuff fall out.
For the second part of the card, I used 4 colors plus gold in a color blocked design. Then I finished it with my sentiment that reads Happy 16. Simple, but just right.
To finish the inside of this card I layered white onto glittery gold cardstock  and left plenty of room for my message. The whole thing turned out fabulous and I hope this inspires you to try new things too. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
