DIY Birthday Card | Fun Cricut Birthday card for a Guy (or anyone!)

DIY Birthday Card | Sandi's Cards | Homemade birthday card on a table
I’m still in birthday season at my house. How’s it going at your house?
I made this card for my son’s 21st birthday. It’s a fun, but basically simple design. The Wow comes from the color scheme. I love the way it turned out. Plus, the “happy” moves freely….so it’s kind of like a toy! Haaa
To begin, I cut the layered “happy” word and the balloons with my Cricut Maker, using the Cricut Design Space program. Then I added some dimension to the balloons with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink.
For my background panel, I glued black and white cardstock strips to a thin paper backer so they would lay evenly. The panel measures 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 and fits nicely on a 5×7 card base.

For the playful element of this card I adhered thin white string to the back of each balloon that I had popped up with foam squares. Then I attached the strings to the back of my “happy” die cut making sure to leave wiggle room. For a finishing touch I added a second black “happy” behind my sentiment to cover the strings. Now it swings back and forth!
To finish this card, I added leftover pieces of the balloons to my white inside panel. It still left plenty of room for my birthday message. Cute, right?! Let me know if you try out this design, I’d love to hear how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate it. I hope you have a great day!
